AFRICAN ROOTS COFFEES are all terroir specific, estate grown, premium grade, single origin, 100% Arabica African coffees. Estate origin coffees reflect seasonal variations and the nuances of soil, climate, topography and altitude. African Roots coffees are typically grown at high altitude. They are aimed at a sophisticated and discerning niche market. A sophisticated coffee drinker who is looking for the right balance of flavours and nuances will not be disappointed.


The commitment of African Roots Coffee is to single origin, estate specific premium coffees, with the origin of each bag identified.The coffees being showcased are 100% Arabica which are lower in caffeine content than Robusta coffees.

African Roots Coffee is presently showcasing coffee from the following estates /  origins:

1. Tanzania Edelweiss AB - Well balanced with a delictae nutty / praline taste. R90 for 250 gms or R345 for 1 kg

2. Kenya AA - Well balanced, light acidity with hints of cashew/almond. R90 for 250 gms

3. Malawi KAPND  - Full bodied, chocolatey,and nutty.  R80 for 250 gms

4. Zimbabwe Farfell -  Rich, well balanced with citrus undertones. R90 for 250 gms or R345 for 1 kg

5. Ethiopia Limu - Dry natural process - well balanced. R75for 250 gms or R275 for 1 kg

6. Burundi Kiryama Washing Station - Berry like brightness with chocolate undertones. R75 for 250 gms or R275 for 1 kg

7. Ethiopian Yigarcheffe - Floral typically jasmine and citrus with blackcurrant, orange peel notes. R80 for 250 gms or R290 for 1 kg

8. Rwandan Gazenke district - Caramelt flavour with creamy body. R80 for 250 gms or R290 for 1 kg

The Edeelweiss Estate currently exports to Japan, the USA and Germany. AFRICAN ROOTS COFFEE is currently the sole distribution of this coffee in South Africa. This coffee is showcased in the current Coffee Mag.
